Hexa-flexa-fun! Math Making with Hexagons

Taught by Bridget Rigby

Join us for more fun math making, with hexagons. Discover the gorgeous side of geometry, as we make many fun things with our favorite 6-sided friend. Our geometry journey will take us from origami hexa-flexagons, cool paper contraptions that fold in and out to reveal surprising surfaces inside, to Escher-like patterns made from tessellating hexagons, and colorful 3D polyhedra made up of hexagons combined with other shapes.

Make-HER workshops are open to girls aged 8 - 12 and their mothers (or other adult female mentors). Our #LadyMaker educators have designed content specifically for this age group. Therefore the workshops are not appropriate for those under age eight, please no younger siblings. You may cancel up to 48 hours in advance through this site. Those who do not show without cancellation will be prevented from registering for subsequent Make-HER workshops.

Each workshop requires a separate registration. Each registration reserves spots for both you and your daughter. If you have more than one daughter aged 8-12, please complete only ONE registration, put both daughters' first names in the name field, and list the younger daughter's age when asked. Please do not register friends for this mother/daughter program.
